All-rounder De Leede took 4 wickets while conceding 62 runs in 9 overs against Pakistan. After this he displayed brilliant batting. Bas de Leede repeated the performance of his father Tim after 20 years by taking 4 wickets against Pakistan. Tim De Leede dismissed Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan against India in the 2003 World Cup. He became the man of the match in this match. However, India won the match by 68 runs.
