IND vs AUS: Australia's strong start with Usman Khawaja's century, Kangaroo team's score 255/4 till the end of the day's play


The fourth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is being played in Ahmedabad from today. Kangaroo team won the toss and decided to bat first and played well. Usman Khawaja played an excellent inning of 104 runs while batting brilliantly. Apart from this, Cameron Green scored 49 runs. By the end of the day's play, Australia have scored 255 runs at the loss of 4 wickets and both the batsmen are frozen at the crease.

Captain Steve Smith decided to bat first considering the role of the pitch. Travis Head and Usman Khawaja came out to open the innings. Both the batsmen played a half-century partnership for the first wicket, playing carefully in the first session. During this, Travis Head also got life on the ball of Umesh Yadav, but he could not take advantage of it.

Smith flopped again

He became the victim of Ashwin by scoring 32 runs in the 16th over. However, after this Marnus Labushen (3) returned to the pavilion cheaply. But captain Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja handled the innings and played an innings of 79 runs. However, Smith missed out on his half-century and was dismissed for 38, being shown the way to the pavilion by Ravindra Jadeja. While Peter Handscomb could only score 17 runs.

After this Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green took the innings forward. Both the batsmen batted tremendously and did not let any more wickets fall till the end of the day's play. Khawaja completed his 14th Test century. He remains at the crease after scoring 104 runs in 251 balls.

On the other hand, Cameron Green supported Usmana Khawaja and played an unbeaten inning of 49 runs in 64 balls. For India, Mohammed Shami got 2 wickets. At the same time Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja got 1-1 wickets.
