Protest Against Waqf Board: Tamil Nadu government accused of giving farmers' land to Waqf Board, know what the protesters said

Protest Against Waqf Board and DMK Govt in Tamil Nadu: On Tuesday (February 14) in Arcot in Ranipet district of Tamil Nadu, villagers staged a protest accusing the State Waqf Board of land grabbing. This protest was led by the activists of the Hinduist organization Hindu Munnani. The protesters alleged that the State Waqf Board has claimed ownership of 57 acres of land.

Hindu Mannani accuses DMK government

According to the news website India Today, the protesters led by the Hindu Mannani cadre accused the DMK government of giving the land of Hindu farmers to the Waqf Board. The protesters said that the Waqf Board is targeting the land of Hindus with the help of DMK minister R Gandhi.

'First told the paper to be fake and then canceled it'

According to the report, a local person named Ramesh told that he has land in this area but the officials told his documents to be fake and canceled the land papers a day later. The man said that his father had bought three acres of land in 1980 and the family has been paying property tax since then.

'Went to the district collector's office to commit suicide'

Ramesh said, “I went to the district collector's office to commit suicide but they stopped me. This land is a source of income for my family of 11 people. I have never heard of paper being canceled in one night. They called me on 19th December with documents for verification and on 21st the collector told me that the party has been changed and my papers are fake.

Meanwhile, the Muslim community in Athoor held a meeting and passed a resolution not to allot the disputed land.
