According to the Hindu calendar, Tulsi-Shaligram marriage is performed on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. It is believed that on this date, Lord Vishnu wakes up after four months of yoga sleep, and again takes charge of the universe. This year the marriage of Tulsi and Shaligram ji will be celebrated on 5th November 2022. According to Hindu religious beliefs, Tulsi is considered a sacred plant and is worshiped as an incarnation of Lakshmi. It is believed that doing this puja brings happiness in married life. Worshiping this puja can prove to be beneficial for couples who are desirous of having children.

Auspicious time for tulsi marriage

The Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month will start from 06:08 pm on 05 November and will end on 06 November at 05:06 pm.

Ekadashi date starts - 04 November at 6.08 pm

Ekadashi date ends - 05 October at 5:06 pm

Tulsi worship method

On this day, first of all wake up in the morning and take a bath and offer Arghya to the Sun God. After that take a vow of fasting.

After this, sitting in the worship place of the house, meditate on Lord Vishnu, worship him and light lamps and incense.

At the time of worship, keep in mind that Tulsa leaves must be offered to Lord Vishnu. They are pleased to do so.

Apply vermilion to the leaves of Tulsi plant, offer red chunri, offer makeup items.

On this day not only the fasting person but the whole family should eat sattvik food.

If possible, Brahmins should be given charity and dakshina after breaking the fast.

What is religious significance

According to Hindu mythology, it is said that King Jalandhar's wife Vrinda cursed Lord Vishnu, turning him into a stone. This form of Lord Vishnu is also called Shaligram, and his devotees worship him. To get rid of the curse, Vishnu had to marry Tulsi in his Shaligram form. Since then, the festival of Tulsi Vivah is celebrated on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month.
