Garuda Purana: Know how the food of Shraddha reaches the ancestors, what are the rules of tarpan!

Apart from all the rules of living life in Sanatan Dharma, some actions have been told for the peace of the soul after death and its death.
One of the karmas after death is tarpan and shraadh. Tarpan is done for donating water to ancestors. In Hindu scriptures, it is said that the family members who have left their bodies, no matter where they are in the world, they get satisfaction by performing tarpan. Apart from this, Shradh Karma is performed in Pitru Paksha to pay off the debts of ancestors. Shradh and Tarpan are considered to be of special importance in Pitru Paksha. It is believed that our ancestors come to earth during the Pitru Paksha. During this, whatever is offered to him with reverence, he happily accepts it and blesses him.

The Garuda Purana also talks about the importance of Tarpan and Shradh for the peace of the soul after death. Along with this, the rules for performing tarpan have also been told so that the water offered to them for the ancestors can reach them. Apart from this, it has also been told in Garuda Purana that how the food offered to ancestors reaches them in Shradh. Let us tell you that Garuda Purana is one of the 18 Mahapuranas of Sanatan Dharma. It shows the path of devotion to Lord Vishnu. In this, apart from the scriptural Samvat policies of living life to the people, the situations after death and the afterlife have been mentioned.

Learn the rules of Tarpan

Tarpan should be done by mixing milk and sesame in water. While reciting the Pitru Gayatri Mantra, face towards the south as the direction of the ancestors is considered to be the south direction. After this, by placing the left knee on the ground, janeu, gamchha should be placed on the right shoulder and tarpan should be done. Silver, copper or brass utensils should be used for the tarpan. Tarpan should not be done with steel utensils.

In this way the food of Shradh reaches the ancestors

Often the question arises in the minds of people that how the food offered to the ancestors reaches them. The answer to this is also in the Garuda Purana. According to Garuda Purana, there are two divine ancestors named Vishwadev and Agnishrava. Both these names convey the things offered with the help of gotra to the ancestors. If our ancestors are in the yoni, then the food of Shradh reaches them in the form of nectar. If a man is in the vagina, he gets food in the form of food, in the animal vagina in the form of grass, in the snake vagina in the form of air and in the Yaksha vagina food is delivered to him in the form of paan.
