World Thyroid Day 2021: These 5 foods included to tackle thyroid problem


The thyroid is a hormone in your body that is responsible for balancing normal development and metabolism. 
If this hormone becomes imbalanced then it affects your body weight and energy expenditure. Thyroid disturbances can lead to hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism and thyroiditis where a person may feel physical changes in the body such as fatigue, hair loss, weight gain or weight loss, irregular menstruation, and more.

Therefore, World Thyroid Day is celebrated to create awareness about this health issue which should not be ignored. Talking about this special day, it was founded by European Thyroid Association and American Thyroid Association on 25 May 2008. And since then it is being celebrated every year. Therefore, on World Thyroid Day 2021, here we are with some special foods suggested by experts that are very healthy to eat to deal with this health problem.

banana

Banana is a form of berry which is considered a superfood that comes with many nutrients like potassium, vitamin B. Consuming bananas at least once a day can relieve thyroid problems. Also, this fruit is very filling your stomach and whenever you feel like eating something, you can eat it as breakfast.

Polenta

Your stomach health plays a good role in deciding how healthy your thyroid can be. Any imbalance in your stomach health can affect thyroid hormones, so eat khichdi which works wonders to maintain your stomach health.

horse gram

Gram contains protein, iron, zinc which is very good for controlling thyroid. It is commonly eaten in South India, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and other places in the country as rasam, lentils and even soup.

saffron

Soak saffron overnight and consume it after waking up in the morning. Doing so will help many of you to overcome thyroid problems. It also provides relief if you are experiencing cramps due to menstruation or PMS. One of the best ways to eat saffron is with milk where your body also gets calcium and protein.
