Modi government's big decision amid Corona's second wave, 80 crore people will get two months ration for free

The Narendra Modi government at the center has taken a big decision in view of the corona epidemic.
The central government has announced that 80 crore people of the country will be given ration for two months free. Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, 5 kg food grains will be provided free of cost to the beneficiaries in May and June. The Government of India will spend a total of 26 thousand crores for this work.

The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the lockdown imposed to prevent the outbreak of the Corona epidemic last year. All kinds of economic activities were stopped in the lockdown and migrant workers were returning to their hometowns. They should not have trouble for food, for this purpose, the Central Government started this scheme.

Now once again the country is in the grip of the second wave of Corona. Partial and complete lockdowns have been announced in many states. In view of this, the government has decided to give two months free ration under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

In a statement issued by the central government, it has been said that in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to the poor, the Government of India has decided to provide ration to 80 crore beneficiaries for free. Last year too, ration was provided to the poor people of the country under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

Everyday Corona records are being recorded every day. Sanctions like lockdown have been imposed in Delhi and Maharashtra as the situation worsens. At the same time, most states have announced a night curfew and weekend lockdown to prevent the spread of infection, after which economic activity has been affected. Due to this, a large number of workers are migrating. There is a fear among the workers that a nationwide lockdown may be announced again like last year. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation appealed to the states to use the lockdown as the last option. In the situation that has arisen due to corona, no one has any problem for food, for this purpose, the Modi government has announced to provide free ration for two months.

Corona's position in the country

More than 3.32 lakh new cases of corona infection have been reported in India in the last 24 hours. The total number of infected people in India has now reached 1 crore 63 lakh. The number of active cases in the country is more than 24 lakhs and the number of dead has reached 1 lakh 86 thousand 920. In the last 24 hours, a total of 2263 people have died due to corona.
