IPL 2021: Virat Sena scores a hat trick to beat Kolkata by 38 runs

Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Virat Kohli, has registered a third consecutive win in IPL 2021.
In the 10th match of the tournament, RCB defeated Kolkata Knightriders by 38 runs. Chasing a score of 204 runs, Kolkata's team was able to score 166 runs after losing eight wickets. Kyle Jamieson took the most three wickets for Bangalore. RCB scored 204 for four wickets with the help of half-centuries from Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers. This is KKR's second consecutive defeat. At the same time RCB has reached the top of the points table with a hat-trick of victory. For the first time in the history of the IPL, RCB have won all three of their first matches.

Chasing the target, Kolkata started brightly but none of its batsmen could play a big innings. Shubman Gill blew 21 runs off nine balls with two fours and two sixes. Then Dane Christian, off Kyle Jamieson, ended his innings with a brilliant catch. After his departure, Rahul Tripathi and Nitish Rana continued to score runs fast. With this, KKR's 50 runs were completed in the sixth over itself. But in the same over, Tripathi was dealt to Washington Sundar. After making 25 runs from five fours in 20 balls, he was caught by Mohammad Siraj on the ball of Sundar. Nitish Rana did not get much strike today. He played only five balls in the first five overs. In this way, after scoring 18 runs in 11 balls with two fours and a six, he became the first victim of Yuzvendra Chahal.

Former captain Dinesh Karthik did not leave today and became the second victim of Chahal by scoring two runs. Captain Ayn Morgan hit a four and two sixes but he also looked colorless. In such a situation, he caught Virat Kohli in an attempt to blow the slow ball of Harshas Patel. Shakib Al Hasan was dismissed after playing a slow innings of 26 runs off 25 balls. He was dismissed by Kyle Jamieson. Pat Cummins was caught behind the wicket off Jamieson after hitting a six. Even the famous Andre Russell of stormy batting could not do anything and became a victim of Harshal Patel by scoring 31 runs in 20 balls.

Maxwell-de Villiers made a splash for RCB

Earlier, RCB scored 204 for four with the help of half-centuries from Glenn Maxwell (78) and AB de Villiers (76 not out). RCB started off poorly after winning the toss and batting first. Captain Virat Kohli (5) and Rajat Patidar (1) returned to the pavilion in the second over. In such a situation, Glenn Maxwell shared an 89-run partnership for the third wicket with Devdutt Padikkal (25). During this time Maxwell appeared in full color. He completed his second consecutive half-century in IPL 2021 with the help of six fours and two sixes in 28 balls. Padikkal became the victim of the famous Krishna after scoring 25 runs in 28 balls.

In his place, AB de Villiers killed him as soon as he came. He added 53 runs with Maxwell and then 56 with Kyle Jamieson to take the team beyond 200 runs. Maxwell was dismissed after scoring 78 runs with the help of nine fours and three sixes. ABD and Jamieson shared a 50-run partnership in just 16 balls. Out of these 39 runs were of de Villiers alone. De Villiers completed the half-century in 27 balls with four fours and two sixes. Due to his stormy batting, Bangalore added 74 runs in the last five overs.

In the end, De Villiers remained unbeaten on 76 from 34 balls with nine fours and three sixes and Kyle Jamieson scored 11 runs in four balls with one four and a six. Andre Russell, who took five wickets in the last match for KKR, was beaten up today. De Villiers robbed 35 runs from his two overs. KKR's Varun Chakraborty was the most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 39 runs.
