IPL 2021: Shikhar Dhawan's explosive batting, Delhi beat Punjab By 6 Wickets

With the help of Shikhar Dhawan's thunderous batting, the Delhi Kettles recorded a six-wicket victory over the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League T20 cricket tournament on Sunday. In the IPL-14 match played at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, Delhi won the toss and invited the Punjab Kings to bat first. With the help of half-centuries from captain Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, Punjab scored 195 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Delhi Capitals won the match by 198 runs for 4 wickets in 18.2 overs. Shikhar Dhawan played a superb innings of 92 runs.

and Prithvi Shaw gave the Delhi team a great start as they reached the target of 196 runs. Both were aggressive from the beginning. The pair put on a 59-run partnership in 5.3 overs. However, Arshdeep Singh broke the tie by dismissing the aggressive batting Prithvi Shaw. Shaw hit 32 off 17 balls with three fours and two sixes. While Dhawan led the team to victory with his beautiful innings. However, he was out when the team came close to victory. He missed his century for eight runs. Dhawan hit 92 off 49 balls with 13 fours and two sixes.

Stoinis and Lalit Yadav's victorious contribution
When Dhawan was dismissed, Delhi were 152 for three in 15 overs. The team needed 45 runs in 5 overs to win. But Marcus Stoinis then batted brilliantly along with Captain Rishabh Pant. Pant was also dismissed on the first ball of the 18th over. He scored 15 off 16 balls. Stoinis hit an unbeaten 27 off 13 balls with three fours and a six. While Lalit Yadav was not out for 12 off six balls. For Punjab, Jay Richards had two and Arshdeep Singh and Riley Meredith had one each.

Earlier, the opening pair of captain Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal gave the Punjab Kings a flying start. He laid the foundation for a big score for the team by recording a century partnership for the first wicket. The pair put on a 122-run partnership in 12.4 overs. Lukman Mariwala broke the partnership by dismissing Mayank. Mayank Agarwal scored 69 off 36 balls which included 7 fours and 4 sixes. Lokesh Rahul hit 61 off 51 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Important contributions of Deepak Hooda and Shah Rukh
However, Punjab's explosive batsman Chris Gayle was not very successful. The current season has not seen it in its rhythm. He was dismissed for 11 off 9 balls against Delhi. However, Deepak Hooda and Shah Rukh Khan made important contributions. Deepak Hooda hit an unbeaten 22 off 13 balls with two sixes. While Shah Rukh Khan was unbeaten on 15 off 5 balls with the help of two fours and a six. For Delhi, Chris Vokes, Mariwala, Kagiso Rabada and Avesh Khan took one wicket each.
