Diabetes can also eat potatoes without hesitation, says research

New Delhi:
'Potato' is a small, chubby vegetable of two letters. Especially for Bengalis, the love for potatoes is a little different. Whether it is in a basket of vegetables or curry, if it is not potato, the general public will not leave.

However, due to diabetes or other reasons, many people stay hundreds of miles away from this underground vegetable. This is because the protein and carbohydrates in potatoes increase blood sugar levels. However, a recent study has shown that diabetics can eat small amounts of potatoes.

In a report published in the journal Clinical Nutrition, researchers report that the use or consumption of potatoes with a low glycemic index (GI) is not harmful to diabetics. These help to control glycemic in the blood.

Doctors also advise people with type 2 diabetes to avoid foods that often contain high levels of glycemic, including potatoes. This is because foods with high levels of GI raise blood sugar levels at night, which increases the risk of heart attack.

However, this is the first time researchers have shown a strictly controlled clinical trial. Of these, GI is not a proper method for glycemic control (GR) of a person, as part of an evening meal for 24 adults with T2D.

Participants took a nine-day break between each trial and then ate the same menu again. And for these few days their blood sugar level was monitored From which it could be understood how beneficial potato is for patients with type-2 diabetes.

However, researchers say, the amount of potatoes does not harm the human body. Instead, if you do not eat potatoes, you will be deprived of various proteins and vitamins. So what else are you thinking, close your eyes and start eating potatoes little by little from today.
