Call for a rural strike on November 26 against the Agriculture Act

Kolkata: The West Bengal branch of the All India Farmers Coordinating Committee has called for a rural strike in the state on November 28 against the Central Agriculture Act. Amal Haldar, convener of the committee on behalf of 21 organizations in the state, said in a press statement on Wednesday that the central government was handing over agricultural products to corporate capitalists by undermining those interests of farmers through a new agriculture law.

There will be a rural strike in the 28th state in protest of the central government's anti-farmer laws and anti-labor measures and other demands.

At the same time, a public convention will be held on November 4 at Ramlila Maidan adjacent to Moulali in Kolkata. Farmers from different districts and leaders of farmers' organizations will take part in the convention in compliance with the health rules.

All Indian trade unions have called for a general strike across the country on November 26. The leftists have taken a number of steps during this festive season.

After Kali Pujo, programs will be held at block and municipality level on various issues on November 18-21. The program will be held in the districts on November 23 and 24 by adding central issues along with the demands at the district level.
