Seeing the beauty there, Mother Lakshmi went towards the garden and plucked a flower and came back to Vishnu. Seeing this, Lord Vishnu cried. After this, Mother Lakshmi remembered the condition of Lord Vishnu, due to which she realized her mistake. Lord Vishnu said that it is a crime to use or touch someone's thing without asking.

Considering her a poor woman, the gardener kept her in her house and made her do a lot of work in the fields. After some time, when the gardener realized that this was not a poor woman but Goddess Lakshmi, he felt remorse and started crying. He apologized to Mother Lakshmi. On this the goddess of wealth said that whatever happened was destiny, there is no fault of her in this. But the way the gardener treated Lakshmi ji made her very happy and blessed her to remain full of happiness and prosperity throughout her life.
