Senior Gynecologist Dr. Sushila Gupta says that women who have previously suffered from miscarriage or have late pregnancy should avoid traveling a little in the initial days because there can be a risk of miscarriage in the initial days due to falling, but Women who have a normal pregnancy can travel comfortably. Similarly, it is wise to avoid traveling during the last few weeks because due to weight gain, there may be difficulty in walking.

Keep some things in mind while travelling-

– Wear only flat comfortable slippers while travelling, there is a fear of falling from high heels, hence do not wear heels during pregnancy.

– Travel only wearing a mask, because the risk of infection increases in crowded places, hence travel only wearing a mask and keep sanitizing your hands.

While travelling, keep a water bottle and food items with you, so that you can drink your own water if you feel thirsty.

– Avoid walking in wet places, where you feel that the floor is slippery, because your balance can get disturbed on tiles and wet places.

– During pregnancy, go by lift instead of stairs because there is a possibility of falling due to loss of balance on the stairs.

– Avoid traveling on days when you are feeling uncomfortable.

Also, avoid traveling in the last months of pregnancy because due to excessive weight gain, difficulty in walking is a common problem, in such a situation, shortness of breath can occur, due to weight gain, the balance can get disturbed due to which there is a possibility of falling, hence travel in the last months. Don't do it. Also, if you are traveling long distance, then definitely take permission from your doctor. Also keep essential medicines with you so that any emergency can be dealt with.
