Government clamps down on online betting apps, bans 22 apps including Mahadev Book

Along with this, MEITY has also issued blocking orders on 22 such illegal betting apps and websites including Mahadev Book and ReddyAnnaPristoPro. This action has been taken after the investigation conducted by ED against the illegal betting app syndicate and the subsequent raid on Mahadev Book in Chhattisgarh.

MEITY has blocked 22 apps and websites including Mahadev App on the request of ED. Minister of State Rajiv Chandrashekhar said that the Chhattisgarh government had full power to recommend closure of the website under Section 69A of the IT Act. We have received the first and only request from ED, after which it has been blocked.
