During this period, we take special care of our physical health along with mental peace by keeping control on our eating habits. Many people also keep fast to lose weight and detox the body. But often people make such mistakes during these days that their weight increases instead of decreasing. Let us know which mistakes we should not make during Navratri so that our weight does not increase.

Not eating regularly:

During Navratri, many people fast for a long time due to which their body becomes victim of nutrient deficiency. By not eating regularly, our body becomes weak and we may have to face many health problems. This affects metabolism and increases weight. Therefore, even during Navratri, we should keep eating something or the other at regular intervals. Even if we take light nutritious food like fruits, milk, curd, but keep taking something at regular intervals.

During Navratri,

people often start eating fried dishes rich in oil and ghee, which are harmful for health. Excessive fried food provides unnecessary calories to our body which can increase weight. Apart from this, excessive frying increases trans fat in food which increases the risk of heart diseases. Therefore, on Navratri, we should avoid fried food and excessive oil and ghee and choose healthy options.

Eating sweet dishes:

During Navratri, many people consume more sweet dishes like laddu, halwa etc. These are rich in sugar which can be harmful for our body. Sweet dishes contain excessive calories which increases weight.

Not drinking enough water:

Drinking less water due to fasting leads to accumulation of toxins in the body. Not only this, our body gets dehydrated by not drinking enough water. This can cause many problems like headache, weakness, constipation etc. Toxins also start accumulating in the body which can increase weight.
