This cycle can be repeated daily or for a few days a week. Fasting for 16 hours increases ketosis in the body which leads to weight loss.

5:2 Type:

5:2 means that you can eat normal food for 5 days of the week and you will have to fast for 2 days. For 5 days you can eat food of your choice, there is no restriction. But for 2 days you will have to eat low calorie food like vegetables, milk and porridge. During fasting for 2 days, you have to eat 500-600 calories. In this you will have to consume more and more water. This routine can be done 2 days a week, or even 1 day a week. Metabolism increases by 5:2 and weight is controlled. 

Alternate day fasting:

In this, food is eaten one day and fasting is done the next day. Fasting and non-fasting days have different patterns. In this, there is fasting one day and normal diet is taken the next day. On fasting days, food of up to 500-600 calories is consumed. Normal food can be eaten on non-fasting days. This routine can be continued for a week or month. It controls hunger hormones and helps in weight loss.
