If everything from tomatoes to cooking gas becomes cheaper, has inflation reduced? See how much your plate cost

Has the price of tomato reduced from Rs 400 to Rs 30 a kg and the price of cooking gas up to Rs 200? Let us know now how much the cost of your plate has become and what did the CRISIL report say about inflation.

Has the price of tomato reduced from Rs 400 to Rs 30 a kg and the price of cooking gas up to Rs 200? In fact, by the beginning of August, inflation had broken the back of the common people. The prices of other vegetables including tomatoes and cooking gas were sky high. But the government tried to control inflation and brought down the price of tomato from Rs 400 to Rs 30 and also made cooking gas cheaper by Rs 200. But has inflation come down after this? In fact, the prices of vegetables and LPG have a direct impact on the prices of the common people. According to a report, the prices of thali have decreased in the month of August as compared to July. Although annually it is still expensive.

Due to this the plate became expensive

The price of a vegetarian thali has become costlier by 24% annually in August. 21% of its increase was due to rising tomato prices. CRISIL has given this information in its monthly indicator of food plate cost, Roti Rice Rate Report. This is the second time during the year 2023-24 that a record increase has been seen in the price of vegetarian thali. Earlier, the price of veg thali had increased by 28 percent in July as compared to June. During this time too, there was a difference in the price of the plate because of tomatoes. At the same time, the price of non-veg thali had increased by 11 percent in July.

This is how it affected on an annual basis

In August last year, the price of tomato was Rs 37 per kg, which has increased to Rs 102 this year. According to the Crisil report, the price of onion has increased by 8%, chili by 20% and cumin by 158%. Whereas, the price of vegetable oil has decreased by 17% and the price of potato by 14% month-on-month. On month to month basis, the price of both thalis has come down to some extent.

Price may come down in September

According to CRISIL report, there may be some decline in the price of thali in September as compared to July-August. At present, the price of tomatoes is Rs 30 to Rs 40 per kg, apart from this, the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has come down to Rs 903 in September. Which was Rs 1,103 in August. This may provide some relief to consumers from inflation. The government has recently reduced the prices of LPG by Rs 200.

On the other hand, the price of non-vegetarian thali has increased by 13% annually in August. However, the price of non-veg thali has increased less on an annual basis. The price of chicken has increased only 1 to 3% in a year. Chicken accounts for 50% of the total cost of a non-veg thali.
