Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday is on 17 September. On this occasion, the Health Ministry is going to run 'Ayushman Bhava' campaign, which is going to be launched by President Draupadi Murmu tomorrow under 'Seva Pakhwada'. This campaign is special in many ways, because the aim of this campaign is to provide the benefits of health services to the country's population of 35 crore people.
In fact, under this campaign, the government will reach out to those people who have not yet received the benefits of 'Ayushman Bharat Yojana'. Under 'Ayushman Bharat Yojana', common people get health insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh from the government. For this, health insurance 'Ayushman Card' is issued to the people.
Benefits have to be extended to 60 crore people
The Government of India started this scheme in the year 2018, when a target was set to provide its benefits to 50 crore people. However, people after 2011 census could not be included in it and the number of such people is around 10 crores. Therefore, now the government has increased the target of this scheme to a population of 60 crores.
What is Ayushman Bhava campaign?
The aim of the Ayushman Bhava campaign is not just to deliver the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat scheme to the people. Rather, all the schemes of the Health Ministry also have to reach the people. Its three bases have been laid down:
Ayushman Mela: Ayushman Mela will be organized at lakhs of health and wellness centers across the country. Health related information and services will be provided to the people in these fairs.
Speeding up the process of distributing Ayushman cards: Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, Ayushman cards are given to eligible families. Under this campaign, the process of distributing Ayushman cards will be expedited.
Ayushman Sabhas: Ayushman Sabhas will be organized in villages and wards. Health related awareness will be spread among the people in these meetings.
Ayushman Bhava campaign will start from 13th September. But it will mainly run from 17th September to 2nd October. Now 25 crore people of the country have been given the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Now the government is trying to extend the benefits of this scheme to 7 crore families (5 members in a family) i.e. 35 crore people by October.
