At the same time, about 26 percent women are concerned about discomfort, infection and irregular periods. Due to their physical disturbances their internal organs are also affected. In this entire research, only 4 percent women were not reported to have problems related to periods. 

What does research say?

In the results, it was found that 60 percent of women and girls between the age of 25 to 34 are suffering from the disease of PCOS. However, what is even more worrying is that 51 percent of women under 24 years of age are affected by this condition. Research has shown that PCOS is not age related. This also shows that PCOS has a huge impact on the fertility of women. According to research by the National Institute of Health (Government of India), the prevalence of infertility in women suffering from PCOS ranges from 70% to 80%.

PCOS has emerged as a concern throughout this research. The Gynoveda report also reveals other gynecological disorders afflicting women in India. About 54% of the women surveyed suffered from PCOS, making it the most prevalent menstrual disorder. However, after this comes pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Which affects 17% of the female population. Candidiasis affects 9%. Fibroids affect 5%. And endometrial hyperplasia is seen in 1%. 

The research also highlighted issues related to irregular periods and pain during menstruation. 83% of women reported that they face pain during menstruation. Due to which he has to use painkillers every month. Of these, 58% described their pain as mild and tolerable, while 25% described it as severe. About 76% of women reported irregular menstruation with less flow. The study shows that almost half of the women used 5 pads throughout the menstrual cycle instead of the recommended 10 to 12 pads per cycle for healthy menstrual flow. Indicated to use.

PCOS also affects physical changes and emotional distress. Nearly 60% of the women who participated in the survey reported the problem of weight gain due to PCOS. 59% women reported problem of facial hair. Skin problems like acne affected 55% of women, while other hormonal skin problems affected 51% of women.
