The delivery of S1 Air electric scooter of the country's largest electric two-wheeler company Ola Electric has started. For this, the company has received more than 50,000 bookings. Its price is Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The delivery of S1 Air has been started in more than 100 cities.
To meet the increasing demand of S1 Air, the company is increasing its production. Its battery is of 3 kWh which gives a range of 151 km in a single charge. It can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 3.3 seconds. Its top speed is 90 kmph. The S1 Air can be charged in about five hours. The company claimed to have tested more than five lakh kilometers of this electric scooter. The company had announced to bring the S1 Air with a 2.7 kW motor but it has been upgraded to 4.5 kW.
It has three riding modes - Eco, Normal and Sports. Its top speed will be 85 kmph. The company has reduced its price by reducing some features in S1 Air. However, it looks similar to the S1 and S1 Pro in appearance. The company plans to launch an initial public offer (IPO) soon. Ola Electric started selling electric scooters about two years ago. It has reached the first position with 38 percent share in this market. The company opened its first experience center in Pune last year. Ola Electric aims to increase the number of Experience Centers to 1,000 in the next few months.
Last week, Ola Electric launched two new electric scooters. The S1X and S1X+ are the most affordable electric scooters from the company. The price of Ola S1X is Rs 89,999 and that of S1X+ is Rs 1,09,999. The S1X will be made available in two battery pack options. The company claims that the S1X+ has a range of 151 km and a top speed of 90 kmph. It can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds. It has 34 liters of luggage space. It will be made available in multi-tone design. Its lower part will be in black color and the rest of the scooter will be finished in a different color. It has circular mirrors and a new display.
