EV in UP: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided that by the year 2030 the vehicles of all government departments will be converted into electric vehicles. UP has become the first state to take such a decision. Formal orders in this regard have reached all the departments. The government has given instructions that in the initial phase, EVs should be purchased instead of vehicles declared useless.
In EV purchase, the government has also simplified the rules on many points. This includes prices as well. It has been said in the instruction that if needed, the amount more than the maximum limit can also be spent for EV. If necessary, the government has given the exemption to the departments to buy EV without tender.
Government vehicles to be converted into EVs
The government has decided that in this way, gradually, in a phased manner, all government vehicles will be converted into EVs by the year 2030. Along with this, the Uttar Pradesh government has also notified the Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022. Two major decisions have been included in this, whose relation is with the common man.
In this way, the government has also done the work of motivating the common man for EV. Now there will be no tax and registration fee for the purchase of electric vehicle for three years. This facility will be available for five years on electric vehicles made in the state.
Loan facility for EV
The state government has also relaxed the rule of giving loan with the intention of promoting EV purchase among officers and employees. Now officers and employees will be able to take loans from the government for electric vehicles.
Let us tell you that Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022 has been notified in UP. On behalf of the government, orders have been given to the RTOs of all the districts to ensure compliance of the instructions with immediate effect.
