National Technology Day: UGC issues notice, universities and colleges will participate in PM Modi's program

National Technology Day 2023: On the occasion of National Technology Day 2023, PM Modi's program will also include all universities and colleges. UGC has also issued a notice for this.

National Technology Day 2023: UGC has asked all colleges and universities to participate in PM Modi's special program on National Technology Day. In this regard, the University Grant Commission has also issued a notice on its official website ugc.gov.in. PM Modi will inaugurate a special program marking the National Technology Day 2023 today, May 11. The program will run from May 11 to May 14, 2023.

Prime Minister Modi's program will be webcast from 11 am today at pmindiawebcast.inc.in. UGC said that all universities and colleges should share the webcast link and make arrangements for a large number of students to watch the program. The notice states that its details will be shared on UGC's University Activity Monitoring Portal uamp.ugc.ac.in.

PM will lay the foundation stone of many projects

During the program, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several projects related to science and technology, which cost more than Rs 5,800 crore. Scientific projects for which the foundation stone is being laid.

They include the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Jatni, Odisha; Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory-India (LIGO-India), Hingoli and Platinum Jubilee Block of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.

When did the celebration of National Technology Day start?

The celebration of National Technology Day was started in 1999 by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He did this day to honor Indian scientists, technologists and engineers.

He worked tirelessly for the scientific and technological advancement of the country, which resulted in the successful completion of the Pokhran tests in May 1998. Since then National Technology Day is celebrated every year with a new theme. This year the theme of National Technology Day is 'School to Startups - Igniting Young Minds to Innovate'.
