China Objects India Proposal: India proposed to blacklist Jaish terrorists in UN, Dragon again stubborn

India In UN: America had banned Abdul Rauf Azhar in the year 2010 itself. Last year, UN China had blocked the proposal of US and India to declare Rauf Azhar as Global Terrorist.

China Objects India Proposal: The United Nations Security Council (UN) has objected to India's proposal to blacklist Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Abdul Rauf Azhar. Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Abdul Rauf Azhar is the brother of Jaish leader Masood Azhar. Abdul Rauf was born in 1974 in Pakistan.

Abdul Rauf was behind the planning of many terrorist attacks in India. The terrorist attacks in India behind which Abdul Rauf was behind include the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC814 in 1999, the attack on Parliament in 2001. Abdul Rauf was behind the attack on the Pathankot Indian Air Force (IAF) base camp in 2016.

US imposed ban in 2010

India proposed to add JeM's Abdul Rauf to UN Security Council's 1267 ISIL and Al Qaeda sanctions list, to which China objected. On the other hand, America had banned Abdul Rauf Azhar in the year 2010 itself. In August last year, being a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China blocked the proposal of the US and India to declare Rauf Azhar as a global terrorist. India and America had demanded confiscation of Rauf Azhar's property, travel ban and handing it over to the government of the victim country.

Apart from this, China, which is said to be the best friend of Pakistan, had banned the proposals to blacklist Pakistan-based terrorists Hafiz Talha Saeed, Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Shahid Mehmood and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Sajid Mir.

China has expressed its objection earlier also

China has always objected to the proposal to ban any Pakistani terrorist group from India and America. In June last year, under the 1267 Sanctions Committee of the UN, China blocked the proposal to declare Abdul Rehman Makki, deputy chief of the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, as a global terrorist.

However, in January this year, Makki, the head of JuD/LeT's political affairs wing and brother-in-law of LeT chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, was declared a global terrorist by the United Nations. In December last year, India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar while targeting China and Pakistan in the UN said that they remain the epicenter of terrorism.
