KKR beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 runs in a thrilling match, Rinku and Rana became the heroes of victory

 

In the 47th match of IPL 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 runs with the help of brilliant innings of captain Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh. Kolkata won the toss and decided to bat first in this match. Kolkata fed Anukul Roy in place of Jason Roy as an impact player in this match. At the same time, Hyderabad fed Rahul Tripathi in place of T Natarajan. 

Batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 171 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Rinku Singh scored maximum runs for the team. He played an inning of 46 runs in 35 balls with 4 fours and a six. Apart from him, captain Nitish Rana scored 42 runs in 31 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes.

Both of them shared an important partnership of 61(40) runs, due to which KKR managed to score more than 170 runs. Apart from these two, Andre Russell scored 24 runs in 15 balls with the help of one four and two sixes. Marco Jansen and T Natarajan took maximum 2-2 wickets from Hyderabad side. And one wicket each was taken by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Karthik Tyagi, Aiden Markram and Mayank Markande. 

Chasing the target, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team could only manage 166 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Aiden Markram scored the most runs for the team. He played an inning of 38 runs in 35 balls with the help of 4 fours. Apart from him, Heinrich Klaasen played an inning of 36 runs in 20 balls with the help of one four and 3 sixes. Both these batsmen shared a 70 (47) run partnership for the 5th wicket. Shardul Thakur and Vaibhav Arora took maximum 2-2 wickets from Kolkata. Apart from them, Harshit Rana, Andre Russell, Varun Chakraborty and Anukul Roy got one wicket each.
