Born in 1959, Mallika Srinivasan graduated from the University of Madras and did her MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mallika returned to India after completing her studies abroad. Joined the family business in 1986 under the supervision of his father. This company was started by father and Chennai businessman S. Anantharamakrishnan. She joined the company as General Manager of TAFE and it was from here that the foundation of change began to be laid.

With the help of technology, he took the company to such heights that it became the second largest tractor manufacturing company in the country. TAFE ie Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited was started in 1960 from Chennai. It is the third largest tractor manufacturing company in the world. The company manufactures batteries, diesel engines, gensets, gear components, passenger vehicles, hydraulic pumps and farm machinery.

Expanded the family business manifold

Mallika Srinivasan played a key role in taking TAFE forward and bringing about a big change. Under the leadership of Mallika Srinivasan, TAFE signed a deal of 400 crores to buy French company Faurecia. He started working closely with American agro company AGCO to increase the capacity of the company. The company set up its plant in Turkey in collaboration with AGCO and started distributing the tractor in many parts of the world.

Over time, TAFE acquired several companies to expand its business. Eicher tractors were also involved in this. This has been the reason that his contribution in the agricultural machinery business in India is considered important. Mallika Srinivasan is currently a member of the Governing Board of IIT Chennai and the Executive Board of the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
