Freedom from arrest at night

Sub-section 4 of Article 46 of the Constitution states that a woman cannot be arrested by the police after sunset and before sunrise. If for some reason the woman has to be arrested, then in this condition it is very important to have the special permission of the Magistrate.

Right to maternity leave

Whether a woman works in a government organization or private, she has the right of 6 months leave after giving birth to a child. This right has been mentioned under the Maternity Benefit Act. During this time the new mother has the right to get full salary.

Right to legal aid

Women have also been given the right to free legal aid in the Constitution of India. Even if someone is poor, he will be provided a lawyer free of cost by the administration or the court to fight his case. Especially women who have faced sexual abuse are given the facility of free legal aid.

Right to anonymity

A woman who is a victim of heinous crimes like rape or sexual exploitation has been given the right to keep her name hidden. They have the right to give their statement only in the presence of women constables and police officers.
