The government is preparing to take a big step to curb unwanted calls and messages. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ( TRAI ) has called a meeting with the telecom companies to resolve the issue. TRAI Chairman PD Vaghela will hold a meeting with telecom operators for the prevention of Unsolicited Commercial Communication ( UCC ). People have to face a lot of trouble due to calls made by telemarketing companies on UCC ie commercial basis. However, now there is hope of getting relief from this problem soon.
Unwanted calls and messages interfere in the privacy of people. To stop them, TRAI is trying to find a solution to this problem with the help of telecom operators. Telecom Regulatory will adopt multiple approach for prevention of UCC. For this, a meeting will be held with all the companies of the telecom world on 27th March.
Rule on unwanted calls-messages
This meeting will be organized in TRAI office. Telecom Regulatory Body Chairman Dr. PD Vaghela will preside over this meeting. TRAI issued regulations under the UCC Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation (TCCCPR) 2018 on 19 July 2018 to rein in UCC. These rules came into force on 28-02-2019. These are being followed with the support of all Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).
Block unwanted call-messages
According to TRAI, customers can block all types of commercial communication (calls and SMS). Apart from this, if you want, you can choose to block one or more categories from Banking, Financial Products, Insurance, Credit Cards, Real Estate, Education, Health, Consumer Goods and Automobile, Communication, Broadcasting, Entertainment, IT and Tourism. .

If a customer uses the telephone connection to send promotional or marketing messages, his connection may be disconnected. On receipt of the complaint for the first time, the connection will be disconnected and the name and address of the customer will be blacklisted for two years.
