
Neiphiu Rio Government Swearing-in: In Nagaland also, the all-party government formed under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio of NDPP has taken oath today. Neiphiu Rio has become the Chief Minister of the state for the 5th time. Nagaland Governor La Ganesan administered him the oath of office and secrecy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi , Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also attended the swearing-in ceremony .
The 72-year-old Rio, who became the Chief Minister for the fifth consecutive time, will lead an all-party government in his state, where there will be no opposition party. BJP is also included in the alliance. All-party government has been formed in Nagaland twice before. But in both the cases, the political parties came together in an exercise to forge a united front for tripartite talks with the central government and former NSCN (IM) rebels for a peace settlement.

The NDPP-BJP alliance won 37 of the 60 seats in the state assembly in the recently concluded Nagaland elections. The NDPP-BJP alliance has formed the government in Nagaland for the second time in a row.
