The general public is troubled by inflation these days. His pocket budget is shaken. But the condition of the country's government is also not very good, its budget for 2022-23 has also deteriorated, that's why it has sought permission from the Lok Sabha on Monday for an additional expenditure of Rs 1.48 lakh crore.

In the financial year 2022-23 where inflation has hit the common man's pocket. At the same time, the government's budget has also been chaotic in the current financial year. During this period, the government's tax collection has increased continuously, but the global economic situation, the uncertainty of the market and the increasing trade deficit have broken its back. That's why the government on Monday presented a proposal in the Lok Sabha to approve the extra expenditure of Rs 1.48 lakh crore.

In the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary introduced a resolution approving a total of Rs 1.48 lakh crore extra expenditure in the current financial year. The government has sought permission to spend this amount under the second installment of supplementary demands.

More than 3 lakh crores were sought in December

Before asking for the fresh amount, the government had proposed a supplementary demand of Rs 3.25 lakh crore in the Lok Sabha during the winter session of Parliament i.e. in December 2022. The government had proposed to approve this amount for additional expenditure in the financial year 2022-23.

A major part of this amount was spent on completing the payment of subsidy on LPG subsidy, urea fertilizer under the Ujjwala scheme.

Telecom Department needs 25,000 crores

The central government has asked for a net cash expenditure of Rs 1,48,133.23 crore on Monday. While the amount of savings, increased receipt or recovery of government ministries or departments comes to Rs 1,22,374.37 crore. In this way, the government has presented a proposal of Rs 2,70,508.89 crore for gross extra expenditure.

In this extra expenditure, about 36,000 crore rupees have to go on the subsidy of fertilizer i.e. urea etc. While Rs 25,000 crore is for the Department of Telecom. Another Rs 33,718 crore is to meet the defense pension expenditure.
