The H3N2 subtype of flu virus influenza A in India has raised concerns among people. People are getting worried thinking it as a serious disease and because of this even the immune system of many is getting affected. It is surprising that people in India are making the mistake of treating themselves to get relief from it. Self-medication can be difficult for the flu. Due to less information, people are forced to take such steps.

According to the report published in CDC.gov, this problem is easily affecting people from 5 to 65 years of age. The symptoms of this flu virus can affect for a long time. Symptoms of H3N2 include persistent cough and high fever.

Sheetal Verma, senior member of the Microbiology Department of King George's Medical University, has given her opinion on treating herself in flu. Experts say that influenza A virus subtype H3N2 is not new, but people are troubled by its symptoms like persistent cough. Self-treatment should be avoided in this condition. Instead, it would be best to seek treatment from a health expert and there is no need to panic.

Expert Sheetal Verma says that most flu can have cough, fever or other common problems, but this does not mean that we should start treating ourselves by taking medicines. So far two people have died due to this flu virus in India, so experts have advised to avoid going to crowded areas.

Abhishek Shukla, General Secretary from the International Association of Doctors, says that the role of other health problems is also included in people who have a problem of cough for a long time. Apart from this, a weak immune system is a big reason. PK Gupta, former president of IMA Lucknow, says that children and old people should take special care of themselves. They should avoid venturing out in cool weather during early morning and evening. Also, self-medication can be difficult.
