Ingredients for making masala bhindi
Okra – 1/2 kg
Tomato – 2
Onion – 1
Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
Chaat masala – 1 /4 tsp
garam masala - 1/4 tsp dry
mango - 1/4 tsp
kasoori methi - 1/2 tsp
oil - as needed
salt - as per taste
Method of making Masala Bhindi
To make Masala Bhindi full of taste, first wash the bhindi and then wipe it with a clean cloth. Now chop onion and tomato. After this, cut 1-1 inch pieces of okra and keep them in a bowl. Now put 2 tbsp oil in a pan and keep it on medium flame to heat. When the oil becomes hot, add chopped okra to it and fry it lightly. After this, take out the fried okra in a bowl and keep it aside.
Now add some more oil to the pan and heat it again. Then put cumin in it and crackle. After a few seconds add ginger-garlic paste and finely chopped onion and fry. Cook the onions while stirring for 2-3 minutes. When the onions become soft and light golden, add finely chopped tomatoes and fry. When the tomatoes become soft, add red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder to it and cook on low flame for some more time.
Now mix dried mango powder, chaat masala, kasoori methi and garam masala in this mixture. After adding salt as per taste, stir the mixture with a ladle and fry for some more time. After this, put the fried okra in the mixture and coat it well. After this, cover the pan and cook the bhindi on low flame for another 10 minutes. Keep stirring the bhindi in between, then turn off the gas. Tasty masala bhindi curry is ready. Serve it with roti, naan or paratha.
