Talks are on with German authorities in Baby Ariha Shah case, said Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra

The German Chancellor has come on a two-day visit to India. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met him.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi met German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Saturday"This is a very sensitive matter, something we care deeply about, something on which our embassy is in very close contact with the parents and the German authorities," the foreign secretary said.

The Foreign Secretary said, “Since there is a child involved, there are serious issues regarding confidentiality. I don't think it would be right for me to comment on them. But it is something we care deeply about. We are very sensitive and are in regular touch with the parents.”

What is the whole matter?

The case is of 2020 when the German administration took Ariha's parents into custody accusing them of sexually abusing their child. Ariha's father was working as an engineer in Germany on work visa. At that time Ariha was 7 months old. German authorities took her into custody after blood was found in her diaper. On the other hand, Ariha's parents say that the girl was injured in a minor accident.

Ariah Shah is currently in a foster home in Germany. This is the place where those children are taken care of who are orphans or their parents are unable to take care of them. Ariha's parents have been trying to get custody for a long time but no solution has been found so far. After this, he also appealed that if you cannot give back the daughter, then let one of the parents stay with her. However, the German authorities rejected this request as well. After this, #BoycottGermany also started trending on Twitter.
