Kerala became the first state in the country to clean gutters with robots, equipped with this special feature

Minister Roshi Augustine said that the modernization of the sewerage system will help prevent the spread of epidemics and the serious health challenges they cause.

Kerala has become the first state in the country to clean sewage with the help of robots. According to a media report, the Kerala government on Friday launched a robot scavenger to clean sewage, which will help in cleaning all the operational manholes in the country. Kerala has become the first state in the country to use this robotic technology. Let us tell you that Water Resources Minister Roshi Augustine launched Bandicoot under the Guruvayoor Sewerage Project.

Bandicoot has been included under the Guruvayur sewerage project by the Kerala Water Authority (KWA), as part of the state government's 100-day action plan. With the introduction of this technology today, the practice of manual scavengers entering manholes will end. Genrobotics recently won the 'Kerala Pride' award at the Huddle Global 2022 Conclave organized by the Kerala Startup Mission.

Robot will clean the dirt

Kerala Water Resources Minister Roshi Augustine inaugurated the deployment of bandicoots in the municipality. He said that the launch of robotic scavengers in Guruvayoor Municipality is a major step towards the use of technology-driven solutions for cleaning manholes across the State. The minister said that modernization of the sewerage system would help in containing the spread of epidemics and the serious health challenges caused by them.

This is a special feature

At the same time, Vimal Govind MK, director of Genrobotic Innovation, gave information about the technology at a function organized at P Krishna Pillai Square. He said that Bandicoot will clean all the ongoing sewerage and drainage in Kerala. Bandicoot robots are currently deployed in 17 states and three union territories. In 2018, KWA started using bandicoots for cleaning manholes in Thiruvananthapuram. Later, it will be introduced in Ernakulam as well.
