BharOS Operating System:
BharOS is a project funded by the Government of India. The objective of this project is to develop an open-source operating system that can be used by government and public systems.

BharOS OS: Indian technology sector has achieved a big achievement today. Union Communication, Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan have tested the indigenous operating system BharOS on Tuesday . The Made-in-India operating system has been developed by the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras ( IIT Madras ). In view of India's privacy and security, the new operating system is very important. After the introduction of the latest operating system, the country's dependence on operating systems like Google's Android and Apple's iOS will reduce.

The upcoming operating system will be used in government departments and public systems. This will help in securing government data. The Modi government does not want to rely on Android or iOS operating systems. That's why the government has taken forward the BharOS project. This will help in giving safe experience to Indian users. Till now most of the smartphones in the country run on Google's Android OS.

Success of digital india

IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav tweeted, “Congratulations to all involved in the development of the system. For the first time when our Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about Digital India eight years ago, some of our friends made fun of him, but today the country's technocrats, innovators, industry and policy makers, and educational institutions have The latter has accepted his point of view.

Special features of BharOS

India is one of the largest smartphone market in the world. There are more than 1 billion mobile users, in which a large number of people use smartphones. The government wants that there should be an indigenous operating system for such a large population.

Currently, 97 percent of smartphones run on the Android operating system. The rest of the smartphones depend on Apple's iOS operating system. In such a situation, after the arrival of BharOS, the OS of Google and Apple will get a tough challenge.

Often users do not get timely updates in the operating system, which can affect the security of their data. Due to not giving timely updates, the risk of burglary in the smartphone increases. At the same time, BhorOS is being prepared from the point of view of data security.

This is how it will start

The services of BharOS will currently be provided to organizations that have strong privacy and security requirements or whose users handle sensitive information. To do this, confidential communication has to be done on restricted apps on mobile. Such users need access to private private cloud service through private 5G network.
