Geeta-Upanishad studies in Kerala's Islamic Institute, students talk in Sanskrit

Upanishads, Shastras and Vedas are taught to the students in ASAS at Malik Dinar Islamic Complex. This institute is affiliated to Calicut University.

A big example of religious brotherhood has emerged from Thrissur district of Kerala. An Islamic institution here has set a different example. Where students dressed in long white robes and turbans on their heads are reciting Sanskrit shlokas and mantras fluently under the supervision of their Hindu gurus. A teacher in the institute asks the student to recite Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara, Guru Sakshat Parabrahma, Tasmai Shri Guruve Namah and the students do so.

Here in the classroom, the conversation between the gurus and the disciples is also done in Sanskrit. Onampilli Muhammad Faizi, principal of Academy of Sharia and Advanced Studies (ASAS), run by Malik Dinar Islamic Complex (MIC), says that the aim of this institution is to teach Sanskrit, Upanishads, Puranas etc. to create knowledge and awareness about other religions among students. To do.

All conversation in sanskrit

In ASAS in Malik Dinar Islamic Complex, students are seen talking among themselves in Sanskrit as well. The principal of the institute said that I felt that students should know about other religions and their customs and practices. But during the study period of eight years, in-depth study of Upanishads, Shastras and Vedas along with Sanskrit will not be possible.

Faizi said that its purpose is to provide basic knowledge to these students and create awareness about other religions among them. He said that important parts of Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Mahabharata, Ramayana are taught to the students in Sanskrit over a period of eight years after passing the tenth standard.
