Statue of Mahatma Gandhi weighing 105 kg made from scrap in Berhampur, Odisha, know the specialty

The principal told that the statue has been made from various junk items including 1600 electric fan bearings, car seat belts and iron rods.

A six feet tall statue of Mahatma Gandhi has been made from scrap in Berhampur, Odisha. The special thing is that a six feet high statue of Mahatma Gandhi made from scrap was installed on Sunday in the premises of the State Industrial Training Institute (ITI) here. The statue weighs around 105 kg and was installed as a tribute to the Father of the Nation on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

Principal of the institute Rajat Kumar Panigrahi told that the statue has been made from various junk items including 1600 electric fan bearings, car seat belts and iron rods. He told that 30 students of Fitter and Welder unit and some teachers together have made this statue in about 30 days. He told that the body and clothes of the statue have been made from fan bearings, shoes are made from seat belts and glasses are made of iron rods. Panigrahi said, "Our students got the scrap items from the electrical workshop and automobile garage. The owners of these establishments donated these items.
