Nepal

The festival of Diwali is also celebrated in Nepal, India's neighboring country. In Nepal, the festival of Diwali is called 'Swanti'. It is a five-day festival, in which crows feed on the first day and dogs on the second day. Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped on the third day. The fourth day is celebrated as the new year and then on the fifth day there is Bhai Tika, which is also called Bhai Dooj in India.

Malaysia and Singapore

Diwali is also celebrated in Malaysia. Apart from this, there is a government holiday in Singapore on the occasion of Diwali. Various cultural programs are organized here.

Sri Lanka

You will be surprised to know that Diwali is also celebrated in Sri Lanka. When Lord Rama reached Ayodhya after killing Ravana, the kingdom was lit with lamps. People of Tamil community wear new clothes after taking oil bath on the day of Diwali and do Posai i.e. worship.

Florida

Thailand

Diwali is also celebrated in Thailand. Here Diwali is called Lam Kryong . In Thailand, the city is illuminated by making a lamp from banana leaves and lighting it at night. They throw the burning lamp in the water of the river.
