The last road of India is full of mysteries, from where Sri Lanka is clearly visible!

There are many such places in India, which is called the country of diversities, which are full of mysteries.
The ones hardly anyone knows about! One such place is situated on the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu on the shores of Rameswaram Island. Sri Lanka is clearly visible from this place. Which is also called the last end of India and here there is such a road, which is called the last road of India.

We are talking about Dhanushkodi village, this village is considered very mysterious. The distance of Rameswaram from here is about 15 kilometers and the whole area is deserted. Due to which many people consider it to be haunted. Although people come here during the day to roam, but they are sent back before nightfall. It is absolutely forbidden to stay or roam here at night.

This place became deserted after 1964

You will be surprised to know that it was not always deserted. People used to live here before. At that time, Dhanushkodi had everything from railway station to hospital, church, hotel and post office, but in the year 1964, everything ended in the terrible cyclone. It is said that due to this cyclone a train with more than 100 passengers drowned in the sea. Since then this area has become deserted.

Dhanushkodi is the only terrestrial boundary between India and Sri Lanka that exists on a sand dune in the Palk Strait. Its length is only 50 yards and for this reason this place is considered one of the shortest places in the world.

According to the local people, Dhanushkodi is the place from where the construction of Ram Setu over the sea was started. There are many temples associated with Lord Rama in this village. It is believed that Lord Rama broke the bridge with one end of his bow at the behest of Vibhishana. For this reason it got its name Dhanushkodi.
