Out of which immunity or immunity has also risen from the medical world to the tea stall. Nowadays there will be no such person who does not know the name of immunity or does not appreciate it. But still very few people know the correct and sufficient information about immunity. That's why we have come up with this article, in which you will get to know about the three main types of immunity and you will also be able to know which is the most powerful type of immunity.

What is meant by immunity and antibodies? (What is Immunity and Antibodies)

Whenever we talk about immunity or the body's immunity, we mean the body's ability to fight against any disease or infection. The immune system that gives us immunity contains antibodies, which fight against any external harmful substances such as bacteria, viruses or parasites. These antibodies are a type of protein that surrounds the bacteria, virus or parasite that has entered the body, making it inactive or destroying it.
Let us now know about the 3 main types of immunity.

3 main types of immunity (3 Types of Immunity)

There are three main types of immunity, which protects our body from any infection or disease. Eg-

1. Active Immunity
Our body gets active immunity when it comes in contact with an infection or disease. When an external element (bacteria, virus or parasite) enters the body and starts destroying healthy cells, then the antibodies and immune cells we got from birth start destroying that external element. This time you may take some time to recover from the infection or disease, but the next time your body comes in contact with this infection, with the help of the immune cells of the body's immune memory, destroy this infection immediately. Will do it Vaccination immunity is also another way to get active immunity. Due to which antibodies against certain infections develop in the body. Corona Vaccination, Measles Vaccine etc. also produce similar antibodies. Active immunity is the strongest and most powerful type of immunity, which lasts the longest. In some cases it can benefit for life.

2. Types of Immunity- Passive Immunity
According to the CDC, passive immunity is called when antibodies are provided to your body with external help. For example, antibody-rich blood transfusion, passing of antibodies from mother to infant through placenta at birth, etc. Passive immunity can last from a few weeks to months. But its biggest advantage is that with the help of passive immunity, antibodies start giving protection as soon as they enter the body. On the contrary, it may take a few weeks for active immunity to form.

3. Herd Immunity
Herd immunity is also called population immunity or community immunity. According to WHO, it provides indirect protection against infectious diseases. However, due to this the number of people infected and dying increases, so WHO does not recommend it. Instead, WHO recommends getting Herd Immunity with Vaccination, which lasts longer and is also reliable. When most of the population (70-80 percent) of a group, state or country has become infected due to an infection, then it is called herd immunity. Since, carriers (healthy individuals) have little or no access to the virus to spread, the remaining 20 to 30 percent of healthy people are less likely to be infected.

Types of Immunity - How to Boost Immunity? (Boosting Immunity)
