Chandra Grahan 2021: Will the blood moon be seen in India? Know the date and important things

Are you excited to see Blood Moon, one of the most beautiful cosmic events of a lunar eclipse?
Well, now you will not have to wait any longer for this. This lunar eclipse will be seen on 26 May. Here today we are going to tell you about the visibility of blood moon in India, which you need to know about.

Will blood moon be seen in India?

After the full lunar eclipse, a rare super blood moon will appear in the eastern sky on 26 May. This eclipse will be visible mostly in East Asia, the Pacific Ocean, parts of North and South America, and Australia. In India, because the moon will be below the eastern horizon during a full lunar eclipse, people will not be able to see the blood moon. However, people living in eastern India will be able to see the last part of the lunar eclipse just before sunrise as it will be closer to the eastern horizon.

Where will the blood moon be seen?

As soon as the sun, moon and earth are in the same line on 26 May, the eclipse will be visible for some time and it can only be seen from Kolkata. On its journey around the Earth, the Moon will pass through the shadow of the Earth, at the same time it will be eclipsed for some time. The partial eclipse of the moon will start at around 3:15 pm and will end in Kolkata at 6:22 pm.

Why will the moon be red and for how long?

Last month, a pink super moon was seen around the world and another super moon will be seen in the coming week, but this time it is being described as red. Reportedly, Super Moon will last only 14 minutes and 30 seconds. First, the Moon enters the outer shadow of the Earth (Penumbra) and when it enters the inner shadow it appears red. In India, this super moon will be seen only in a partial phase.

For your information, let us know that in this year i.e. 2021, a total of 2 lunar eclipses are going to happen. The first lunar eclipse of this year will be on this month i.e. 26 May and the second lunar eclipse of this year will be on 19 November. Because the lunar eclipse seen on May 26 will be partially visible in India, then it will not have any ominous effect on the people in any way. However, any kind of auspicious work will still be prohibited during this period.
