IPL 2021: Ravindra Jadeja Shines in Chennai's stunning victory over RCB

Chennai Super Kings crushed Royal Challengers Bangalore by 69 runs in IPL 2021 on the basis of Ravindra Jadeja's all-round game.
Chasing the target of 192 runs, RCB team captained by Virat Kohli could score 122 runs for nine wickets. This is his first defeat in this season. Chennai Super Kings batting first, Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 62-run innings score of 191 for four wickets. Jadeja dominated in today's match. In batting, he scored 62 runs off only 28 balls with four fours and five sixes. He hit five sixes and scored 37 runs in the last over of CSK's innings. Then Ravindra Jadeja also took three wickets for 13 runs in four overs. Also scored a run out. With this win, Chennai team reached the top in the points table. He has recorded a fourth win in five matches.

This match was completely named for Jadeja. He had put pressure on RCB with the blast of the last over, which also appeared in the batting of Virat Kohli's team. Harshal Patel was proving to be the trump card for RCB in the death overs till now. He still showed his brilliance earlier but Jadeja hit him for five sixes and a four in the 20th over. There was also a Nobol among them. A total of 37 runs were scored in this over and it became the joint most expensive over in IPL history. When Jadeja did not even open the account, then he got a life and finally he was able to make the highest score of his career. Patel had given only 14 runs in the first three overs, but in the end his bowling analysis was three wickets for 51 runs.

RCB loses despite a good start

Chasing the target, Daromdar Kohli and Devdutt were on the opening pair of Padikkal. But both of them returned to the pavilion in the powerplay itself. Padikkal scored 34 runs off 15 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes but Kohli (eight runs) did not appear in color. He was caught by Mahendra Singh Dhoni on the slow ball of Sam Karan. Padikkal lost his wicket in an attempt to pull the ball of Shardul Thakur. Despite this, RCB were able to score 65 for two in the powerplay but Jadeja then held the ball and sent the pavilions to Washington Sundar (seven off 11) and Glenn Maxwell (22 off 15) in consecutive overs to make RCB's position fragile. Granted Maxwell was bowled over in an attempt to play the long shot.

Jadeja also then dismissed Dan Christian (one) and dismissed AB de Villiers (four) with his turn, shaking his leg stump. This ensured the victory of CSK. Yuzvendra Chahal (eight not out from 21 balls) and Mohammad Siraj (12 not out from 14 balls) managed to play the entire 20 overs.

Jadeja gave pace to Chennai innings

Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja got 37 runs with the help of five sixes in the last over of Harshal Patel after the initial life. With this, Chennai Super Kings made a strong score of 191 runs for four wickets. Despite a 74-run partnership for the first wicket between Faf du Plessy (50 off 41 balls, five fours, a six) and Rituraj Gaikwad (33 off 25 balls), Patel's tremors in the middle seemed to be due to CSK 170. Will be able to reach around the run. But Jadeja (62 not out from 28 balls, four fours, five sixes) changed the equation in the last over.

Patel was proving to be the trump card for RCB in the death overs till now. He still showed his brilliance earlier but Jadeja hit him for five sixes and a four in the 20th over. There was also a Nobol among them. A total of 37 runs were scored in this over and it became the joint most expensive over in IPL history. Patel had given only 14 runs in the first three overs, but in the end his bowling analysis was three wickets for 51 runs. After Mahendra Singh Dhoni's decision to bat first after winning the toss, Du Plessi presented a sample of his fascinating drive while Gaikwad supported him.

The partnership of these two was broken by Yuzvendra Chahal (one for 24 runs). Gaikwad could not foresee his leg break turn and the ball fluttered in the air with the edge of the bat which was converted by Kyle Jamieson in a catchy run. Gaikwad hit four fours and a six in his innings. Suresh Raina (24 off 18 balls) hit Chahal for a spectacular six in the long on area and then showed his skills to play long shots to Washington Sundar and Navdeep Saini as well.

Virat Kohli made consistent changes in bowling and Patel dismissed Raina and Duplessis on slow balls and sent CSK to the backfoot. Raina attempted a long shot at midwicket while Duplessis caught the boundary on the next ball. Dan Christian caught his catch beautifully but he failed to take Jadeja's catch. Patel took his third wicket in the form of Ambati Rayudu (14 from seven balls). Patel gave five runs in the 18th over of the innings, while Mohammad Siraj (four overs 32 runs) bowled the next over but the last over of the innings could be costly to RCB.
