On Saturday, a 28-year-old man strangled his 25-year-old wife and killed her after having sex in Hamirpur district. The murder case came to light on 7 February when the body of the woman was recovered in the field.

The victim was identified as Kanchan (25), who hails from Pari Ojha area of ​​Hamirpur, while her accused husband Amit Lal is a resident of Naseerpur village in Kanpur Dehat district. Both were married about three years ago and they also have a two-year-old son.

Used to be harassed for dowry

It is being told that Kanchan's in-laws always harassed her for dowry. Kanchan often fought with her husband and in-laws. Tired of constant harassment by her husband and in-laws, Kanchan went to her parents' house in Hamirpur on January 4 from where she went missing under mysterious circumstances on 2 February, police said. After this, on 3 February his parents lodged a complaint of his disappearance with Sucheta police. Kanchan's parents allege that even after writing the missing report, the police did not take any strong action.

Seeing the lukewarm attitude of the police, his parents contacted SP Hamirpur Narendra Kumar Singh and suspected his son-in-law's hand behind his daughter's disappearance. City Circle Officer Anurag Singh said, "The accused arrested on Saturday from Kanpur countryside said that he wanted to live with his wife but he and his parents were objecting. He then conspired to kill her. "

Called Hamirpur by luring money

Singh said that the accused said in his statement that he lured his wife to come to the town of Hamirpur by luring money. From there he took her to a nearby farm where the accused first had sexual intercourse with her and then strangled her and threw her mobile phone into a river. He hid the woman's body in a nearby field. The body recovered from the fields on Sunday has been sent for postmortem. Singh said that an FIR has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of IPC including 302 and has been sent to jail.
