In the budget presented on February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced an additional 1 crore gas connections under the Ujjawala Yojna.
"The free cooking gas LPG scheme (Ujjawala) will be expanded and more than one crore beneficiaries will be brought under this ambit," the finance minister said. In Ujjawala Yojana, families who fall in BPL category as per 2011 census can avail the benefits of this scheme.

The Ujjawala scheme will connect 1 crore families

One crore women will soon be able to avail the benefits of the Ujjawala scheme. Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana, the government provides home cooking gas (LPG) connection to families living below the poverty line. The Ujjawala scheme aims to provide free LPG connection to a total of 1 crore BPL families.

What is the Prime Minister's Ujjawala Scheme?

The Government of India will provide financial assistance of Rs. This amount will be for the purchase of LPG gas connection. In addition, installment (EMI) facility can be provided to pay for the cost of purchasing stoves and filling LPG cylinders for the first time.

BPL Card, BPL Ration Card, Aadhar Card, Water ID, Passport Size Photo, Copy of Ration Card, Self-Declaration Form Verified by Gazetted Officer, LIC Policy, Bank Statement, Print Name in BPL List Authorized by Panchayat Officer or Municipal Corporation Chairman Out.
