The player, who used to travel in a local train at one time, is now a star cricketer of Team India

Everyone knows Team India's fast bowler Shardul Thakur.
Shardul is one of the heroes who won the Brisbane Test against Australia. Shardul was warmly welcomed by cricket fans returning home from Australia. Fans were eager to catch a glimpse of him. But on his return from a tour of South Africa three years ago, no one recognized him.

The incident happened in 2018 with Shardul Thakur . Shardul had just returned from South Africa. Shardul had taken a local train from Andheri to his home in Palghar. No one recognized this star bowler of Team India in this train full of passengers.

"After returning from South Africa, I caught the train in the dark," Thakur said in an interview. I was wearing headphones and wanted to get home soon. People who were looking at me in the train were thinking, am I really Shardul Thakur or not.

He said that some college students searched my photo on GOOGLE and after confirmation they asked for a selfie. I said let me reach Palghar and take a selfie later. People traveling in the train apartment with me were amazed that Indian cricket was traveling with them.

Shardul Thakur, 29, lived in Palghar, Maharashtra. Shardul has an old connection with the Mumbai local train. They were going to Borivali in a 5 hour train in the morning. So that he can play cricket for school. However, he used to go to Palghar every day to play cricket. That is why his name was changed to Palghar Express. The three-hour journey every day made Shardul very strong mentally.

Notably, Shardul Thakur got a chance to play in the Brisbane Test. Shardul took a total of 7 wickets in that Test. He also batted brilliantly in the first innings and scored 67 runs. At one point, India had lost 6 wickets for 186 runs in the first innings. Shardul then put on a 123-run stand for the 7th wicket with Washington Sundar to return India to the match.
