Even today, in the village of Pini in the Manikarna valley of Himachal Pradesh, there are customs that you cannot believe knowing.
This tradition is observed in Shravan
This strange tradition is observed in the month of Shravan in the village of Pini in the Manikarna valley of Himachal Pradesh. Where women don't wear clothes for 5 days. If a woman does not follow this tradition then something inauspicious can happen in her house and unpleasant news can be heard. For the same reason, the people of this village are still following this tradition.
The reason for this custom is that centuries ago there was a demon who used to lift beautifully dressed women. This demon was put to an end by the village gods. It is believed that the Lahua deity still comes to the village today and fights against evils.
Changes over time
However this is the first change over time. Now the women of the village do not go completely naked but wear extremely thin clothes to carry on the tradition. In earlier times women here had to stay completely naked for five days. Not only that, for these five days, women were not allowed to take part in any ceremonies and they were not allowed to laugh. Women kept themselves completely out of society during this punk day.
