New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off 8 trains connecting Kevadia through video conferencing to different regions of the country at 11 am on January 17. These trains will provide connectivity to the Statue of Unity. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate several other projects related to the railway sector in Gujarat during the event. The Chief Minister of Gujarat and the Union Railway Minister will be present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Chandod Gauge Broad Gauge Railway Line, Chandod - Kevadia New Broad Gauge Railway Line, the newly electrified Pratapnagar - Kevadia section and new station buildings of Dabhoi, Chandod and Kevadia at Dabhoi. According to the information, these buildings are aesthetically designed incorporating local features and modern passenger amenities. Kevadia is a town in Gujarat.
Kevadia station is the first railway station in India with green building certification. These projects will increase the enthusiasm for development activities in the surrounding tribal areas. At the same time, it will increase connectivity with important religious and ancient pilgrimage places situated on the banks of river Narmada, promote domestic and international tourism. Will act as a catalyst for overall socio-economic development. The sector also helps in generating new employment and business opportunities.
