Another Hindu temple demolished in Pakistan: Police remain silent, video goes viral

Extremists in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have had a dark repercussion on the demolition of a historic Hindu temple. The incident took place in Karak district of Kohat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where a mob of extremists first set fire to the temple and then demolished the temple walls.

According to witnesses, Pakistan's extremist Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam activists and local leaders stormed the temple. But instead of stopping the crowd, the police remained silent. The video of the whole incident has gone viral on social media.

In the video, several people are seen breaking the walls and roof of the temple. Hindus living in Pakistan as well as other minorities are outraged over the issue. On the other hand, Pakistan's Human Rights Minister Shirin Mazari and other activists have also condemned the incident. The Hindus living here had sought permission to rebuild the temple.

Importantly, this is not the first time temples in Pakistan have been attacked. There are frequent attacks on temples as well as people from other minority communities.
