5 year old Samsung smartphones have now received an update, users were also shocked

Smartphone companies offer two or three major Android updates to their device.
Apart from this most of the companies also provide security updates to the users for at least three years. However, the three-year-old phone rarely gets a new update but the South Korean company Samsung has shocked everyone. Samsung has rolled out new updates for four of its 5-year-old smartphones.

New updates are being offered from Samsung to older smartphones, including the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge , Galaxy S6 Edge + and Galaxy Note 5. All four smartphones were launched by the company in 2015. This ended in 2018, three years after the release of official support for Samsung premium smartphones, but even after this it is still getting the January 2019 security patch.

No new features
Many users in the UAE have received new updates on Galaxy S6 series devices. The Galaxy Note 5 is also being given a security update. Interestingly, neither the security patch level nor the new features have been added to the device since the new update. According to SamMobile, the new update does not necessarily include a security-related stabilization code.

The update is
clear that Samsung may have noticed a major flaw in the device or a security bug, which the company has rolled out to fix. The surprise update has reached users in some countries in Europe and Latin America besides South Korea. If you have any of these devices, you can check for updates by going to the Settings section. However, even after the update, the phone will work on Android 7.0 Nougat.
