Negative attitude towards China increased among the world

Washington: People's negative attitude towards China is increasing in developed democracies of the world. Especially the attitudes of China are not right among the people of Australia and Britain. The Pew Research Center released a report on Tuesday. The report comes as China is embroiled in trade and diplomatic disputes with its neighbors and other countries around the world and is taking an aggressive stand.

The survey was conducted between June 10 and August 3 in 14 democratic countries with advanced economies. Through this, 14,276 adults from 14 countries were interacted with. 81 per cent of people in Australia said they had a negative view of China. This figure is 24 percent higher than last year. The UK has seen 74 percent negative perceptions towards China.

It has increased by 19 percent over the previous year. In Germany, with a rise of 15 points, the figure is 71 percent and in the US with an increase of 13 points, 73 percent people have a negative view of China. The 14 countries surveyed include the US, Canada, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Britain, Australia, Japan and South Korea.

In most of the countries surveyed, the attitude of people with high income and low income is also almost same. In addition, in nine countries surveyed, Spain, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, Britain, South Korea, Sweden and Australia have negative views at their highest levels in the past 12 or more years.

China and many other democratic countries in the survey condemned China earlier this year when it implemented the New Security Law in Hong Kong. Critics say that the former British colony was ceded to China under special rights. At the international level, China was the most blamed for coronavirus.

Its first case was found in the Chinese city of Wuhan on 31 December last year. After that it spread to the whole world. In the beginning, China did not show enough speed to stop it. At the same time, China also tried to hide the Corona virus figures.
