Assistant coach Abhishek Nayar played a very important role in making Kolkata Knight Riders the IPL champions for the third time and many players worked behind the scenes to bring his contribution to the fans. After KKR won the IPL, Nayar's name was on the lips of every KKR fan and now Nayar is once again in the limelight but this time the reason is a bit interesting.
During a recent podcast, former Indian cricketer and KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar was asked to express his views on the topic of sex in cricket. An Indian YouTuber named Ranveer Allahbadia asked Nayar a question related to sex in the lives of cricketers without any filter, to which Nayar also answered without any filter.
A clip of Nair's reply is currently going viral in which Ranveer can be seen asking Nair, "Last topic, sex in cricket? Is it a factor in the lives of players?"
In response to this question, Nair says, "Are you asking this in a positive way or a negative way? You have asked a very open question. Sex is bound to happen. Which person can survive without it? But is it good or bad? Is this your question? Or is your question 'how much it is'?"
He said, "It is normal for anyone to do that. It is different for everyone. It is a constant battle and puzzle in every cricketer's mind. Some will like it, some will stay away from it. Some cricketers feel that their power and focus improves if they don't have sex, while others follow it and conclude that nothing has changed for them. So, it is a very personal thing. It is not a rule. The fact is that at different stages of life, different things work. Nobody is desperate, but sometimes there is so much pressure that you want to keep quiet."
